Continue with the Theatre classes, if your school has public speaking classes, take them as well--it will help. Watch all the movies and TV programs you can, and really observe the acting styles.
Generally, actors learn all about theatre or the movies--the writing, about production and direction, etc.--but that may not be until college. Ask your teacher or guidance counselor what else you can take to help you.
Try your hardest to get into all the plays that you can--even if the roles are small. Practice makes perfect--and the roles will get bigger. Ask your teacher if there is anything you can do at home to help you further.
Reading scripts and acting them out at home can be helpful. I so admire your ambition and goal! If you do a bit of research, you will find that many actors are shy or suffer with stage fright. One is Barbra Streisand--but there are many others. There are tricks you can learn to overcome this--I read that in people's memoirs and autobiographies.
I wish you much luck and success. Take all you can get from your class and teacher--that's what they're there for.

Actually, no, you're not. You're ready to start training towards a possible career. If you loved science would you say you were ready for a career as a surgeon? It's the same with acting. School stuff is a very basic introduction - that's all. If you are serious about wanting to act, read every play you can get hold of, read books, go to a theatre club or stage group which is separate from your school and learn everything you can. Singing is often required so join a choir or singing group - dance is really useful too. Work hard at all your school subjects and get as many good grades as you can so you can get onto a high school course including Drama or Performing Arts, and also ideally subjects like Psychology, English, Sociology, etc. Take an interest in everything. Then apply for a drama school. You are looking at years of hard work, very little glamour, terrible rates of pay – if any – doing odd jobs in bars, shops, offices, etc, just to pay the bills while you’re auditioning for acting work. It’s not something you should even be considering unless you’re totally passionate about acting and can’t imagine doing anything else. You’ll probably never be famous, or make much money, but if it’s what you really want, go for it. If it’s just a nice idea because it sounds fun and exciting and so on, forget it.

Hello. I am also 15 in my drama class. I am not very shy and i do not want to be an actor....But i have some knowledge on how to get a good start. Though it is not required, study at an acting school for college. There can be two ways:
1) Start out in theater because in theater you audition for roles instead of relying on connections (film industry). Eventually, if you are talented, you will land a great role that will get you further known amongst directors and casting people.
2) Audition now! Go into shows and commercials young! Search the internet. There are tons of casting auditions!

good start..keep going, the best way to learn acting is on the stage. So do as many plays as you can in high school and go on auditions at some local colleges,,Palomar has an incredible stage and the head of the theater dept. does very unique plays....his name is Michael Mufson. if you want film and TV, then you will need an agent. DO NOT pay anyone up front to be your agent, a real agent will sign you and they get paid only when you work and it will be a pecentage of what you make. You will eventually have to go to L.A. for film and TV...but train in the art before you make that move. your young and have plenty of time. So, take acting classes, read books on acting (not acting for dummies) watch movies...all kinds and do not be affraid of old black and white movies, read plays...all kinds including Shakespeare.....this is basic stuff....but start here....remember, acting is not about being rich and famous...(if that happens, it is a bonus) acting is about the passion for the art, because it is an art and it is not easy. You have to be determined, patient and never quit....good luck

Keep taking classes, try out for parts in the school play/musical just to get some experience. Then move up to community theatre, always keep your ears open for an opportunities in the area.
You can go to school for it after high school that will provide some opportunities. Many people move to New York and Cali and get odd jobs like waitressing and build their resume by getting small parts as extras in tv shows or movies and then move up from there but its hard to make it that way.

The first thing you need to do to become an actor is start going to an acting school. You don't need to go to a different school or anything like that you just need to go once a week. The difference between an acting school or just acting classes is acting school will give you auditions and set you up with agents.
If you want a good acting school google John Robert Powers or just google acting schools in your area.

your story sounds alot like mine...
I was super shy in the beginning, but after awhile in my creative dramatics class, it (shyness) was easy to overcome.
my plan for starting an acting career is researching the local theatre for the next auditions(working so far).
What you have to keep in mind is that you might not get it on your first try, but you have to be confident in your skill:3

Keep taking theatre classes. If there is a community theater in your city, get involved or volunteer. Read as much as you can about acting and the theater. Good luck, maybe someday I'll see you on the big screen.

You should get an agent, or if that isn't possible go to some open auditions, but an agent will give you the best chance of getting your career up and running.

this is not too late. You can prove your ability every where. Acting is a talent and you have to prove that in front of your school mates and other friends.
Try to participate in such activities by which you can show your performance to every body.
