is it in the dress code? and how mini is mini? If your skirt is more than 3 inches above the knee it is inappropriate for work. It is not against the labor laws since the employer is responsible for preventing sexual harrassment in the workplace. If you were to wear a micro mini and then someone said something inappropriate, you could file a sexual harrassment suit and so they may have implemented a dress code saying no mini skirts, but they need to define how short is too short too.

Honestly, it's not very professional to wear a mini-skirt to work anyways. Your supposed to represent the company, and all though your boss might be a complete a$$, there's really nothing you can do about it.

Mini skirts aren't really appropriate for business anyway...I save mine for going out socially. Companies can establish dress codes that are appropriate for their business. You will get more respect and earn more money in the long run if you avoid drawing attention to your sex appeal, and focus more on your business skills while at work. Once out of work and away from coworkers, you can let loose!

No, dress codes are at the employer's discretion, but if your boss is giving you a hassle... if the objection to the miniskirt involves any kind of harassment or illegal discrimination, then it IS against the labor laws....

No, there aren't any labor laws about that type of dress.

I know that my dress code doesn't allow me to wear anything but a suit and no open-toed shoes! UGH!

Good luck!

No.There is appropriate clothing to be worn for work attire. Mini skirts are not appropriate. Your boss has the right to tell you not to wear them.

No. Dress codes are perfectly legal as long they are not discriminatory. It is unprofessional to be wearing a miniskirt to most jobs anyway.
