how can you keep your tacoma's catalytic converter from getting stolen?

I don't think I can tell you how to keep your catalytic converter,short of avoiding parking in secluded places or in places where there isn't alot of people around but I can at least tell you why people steal them.To recycle them.Recycling centers don't ask where you got them. The catalyst is an element that causes a chemical change in a gas when such a gas is passed through it, ie:exhaust.The gases in exhaust changes into a less harmful condensation when it goes through the catalyst.The elements usually used are paladium and rhodium among others.Expensive stuff.Recycling centers will pay from $35-$145 depending on the type of converter. That's why they are such a high target for unscrupulous people who are only wanting to make a fast buck.

I assume you mean because the cat converter on those vehicles are at the exit of the tailpipe. I did not know the Tacoma was that way, but I'm aware that the 4 runner has it on the end. Personally, I wouldn't worry about it. Anybody stupid enough to steal a catalytic converter can have it. You also might notice a nice 10 horsepower increase without it.

who would take a cat- converter? pretty much the whole exhaust has to be taken apart or cut to remove it. I would say stop parking your truck up on ramps. LOL

Chain a pit bull to the bumper. Just don't forget to bring him with you when you go someplace. Works for me.
