Whats the difference between a tower and a shuttle case?

Besides the obvious that the Tower is a Tower case, and the Shuttle is a Box...basically. Does the Shuttle have more room, better cooling, worse cooling, or what? Or, is it just the look of it?

The 'shuttle' is portable, most only accept a micro atx motherboard so they are not very upgradable. They are smaller but typically are not as fast because the cooling solutions are limited. If size is not a factor a mid tower is the way to go.
