While I was at sea, my wife used to take our kids lots of places. I was 'seeing the world' and I'd never expect my wife and kids to sit home all the time. Have fun! Take lots of pics for dad!

Ask him why he doesn't want to take a trip. Being in the Navy involves a lot of travel, and maybe he's just looking forward to being in his own home. If you still want to go somewhere with your kids, you could plan to take a trip with them for before he gets back. That will give you more time too, and then you can focus on him when he returns.

Well - I think you should wait for your husband to get home for an official "family trip" - but I think you should do something else special with your children between now and then. Take them to an amusement park, go hiking and have a picnic, do something special with your kids once a week - movie night with popcorn, music, etc... Something that they'll remember as a special time with just mom. The official family trip should include DAD.

First things first ..He loves you. Have faith in his love for you. Please show the same strength of character & love that you had when you first met him.

From now to August, Kids can't do without a nice, albit, small trip. Be a 21st century Mom & take them out. Even if a weekend camping or 5 days Disneyland.

When he comes back, rather than asking to even take kids out of vacation, spend more time one-to-one with him. Make love to him & cook him great food. Apriciate him as the main bread earner & give him respect for that. He will love you in return & you will have respect & trust from him which will take you through next time he on sea.

May god be with you.

Just let him know that you want to do something special with the children before they go back to school. If money is not the problem, maybe you could do something with the children before they go back to school and something when he gets back that includes the whole family (a weekend getaway?). I'm sure that he is just upset about having to miss out on spending time with you and the children.

Take the trip without him but a cheap one. He maybe worried about finding a job when he gets back.

He's insecure, why? Is it possible he's the guilty one? Life goes on, take the kids e-mail EVERYDAY
