Love is something that can make you feel naturally high and confuses the hell out of most of us. The Greeks have separated three different levels of love: agape, or general affection; philia, or love that you have for friends and family; and eros, passionate all consuming, let's-get-it-on love. The Beatles claim that's all you need, and love is great when you're in it.

Here's a quote that covers it pretty well:
If I speak in the tongues of men and angels, but have not love,
I have become like a resounding brass or a crashing symbol.
And if I have prophecy and know all mysteries and all knowledge,
and if I have all faith so as to remove mountains,
but have not love, I am nothing.
And if I dole out all my goods,
and if I deliver my body that I may boast
but have not love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient,
love is kind,
it is not jealous,
love does not boast,
it is not inflated.
It is not rude,
it is not selfish,
it is not irritable,
it does not keep a record of wrongs.
It does not rejoice over the wrong, but rejoices in the truth
It bears all things,
it has faith for all things,
it hopes in all things,
it endures in all things.
Love never fails;
but where there are prophecies, they will fail;
or tongues, they will cease;
or knowledge, it will pass away.
For we know in part and we prophecy in part.
But when the perfect comes, the imperfect will pass away.
When I was a child,
I spoke as a child,
I thought like a child;
when I became an adult, I put away childish things.
For now we see through a mirror in an enigma, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know as also I was fully known.
But now remains faith, hope, love,
these three;
but the greatest of these is love.

Love is when someone is more important than you are. Love is wonderful, disappointing, irritating painful and joyous. The love for a child is endearing, the love for a mother is admiration, the love for a pet is faithfulness and trust and the love for a husband/wife is all encompassing.

True love is Unconditional. We can learn alot from our pets about this type of love. Need I go into details. They love us no matter what. We should follow this example and the divorce rate would drop. I dont mean its ok to walk all over or get over. I mean get over it. Leave the drama behind, thats what we have television for (not that I watch tv anymore).

Love is a basic dimension of human experience that is variously conveyed as a sense of tender affection, an intense attraction, the foundation of intimacy and good interpersonal chemistry, willing self-sacrifice on behalf of another, and as an ineffable sense of affinity or connection to nature, other living beings, or even that which is unseen. It manifests itself in feelings, emotion, behavior, thoughts, perception and attitude. It influences, underlies and defines major patterns in interpersonal relationships and self-identification.

Love is a biological reaction to pheromones mixed with a short term mental instability.
Fun though.

Love is best defined as the willful, volitional and continued commitment to seek the highest and best of another in self-sacrificing, self-denying placement of one's own needs and desires beneath theirs.
The popular definition that emphasizes the emotion, passion and lust breaks down when you consider the love of a parent for a child or the love between siblings.
I love another, therefore I choose to place their needs before my own.
Hope that helps. Best to you.

Love is the real nature of Us, this is because we are born in the nature and its constituents so their nature should be in built in us. As this is the real nature of mother nature , True LOVE and nothing else. We where separated from god due to our feeling of " I am ness " and now want to feel complete by going back to him and being one again. the only problem some of us think that it is through "sex " Union of two souls
