I am going on a trip to equador and need to know what shots an american needs to get before leaving and going there. I will be going in May. Thank you!

That information is published by the CDC and outlines what specific vaccines you need and which are recommended for travel to tropical South America.

Don't forget travel insurance - just in case.

Here's the CDC page on that: http://www.cdc.gov/travel/vaccinat.htm A travel medicine doctor can tell you what you need and administer the vaccinations and any prescriptions you need.
