Aren't we acting like foreigners when we hypenate our names with the ethnic name of our ancestors? I don't get it do you? I am an American Period, I have no loyalty to any other heritage. I will respect their countries and their cultures but I have no desire to attach their name to ours as if I want to place their flag here either? Wasn't that the point of Independence, to dissolve all loyalty to those places of origin and not turn our backs but to be allied in government to protect all interests but not hang on like a monkey with a vine only letting go when they have another vine. That sounds like a traitor or a double agent? We cannot serve two masters. There is only one God and one country I am loyal two what about you? And I won't argue the name of God either but I will argue about the name of my country and the flag we will have here won't you?

To Cherry Blossom you know what it means to assume? Yes dear you are ha ha? Because I am an American Native, but I because I am a real American have no need to put the Native in there. We are far more into the future than that. And as far as loyalty, who are you in my country a tenant wasting our resources starting wars committing genecide upon my American Natives? Please don't answer my questions you are too high and mighty to be real with all your assumptions and criticisms? Unless you can take them right back at you? Life is too short to waste my time with the ignorant. Thank you for attempting to be civilized but don't you dare try to civilize me or mine again? Okay then
Have a blessed day!

We try to think we're not, but at base each one of us is as tribal as your average Iraqi insurgent. And each one of us takes pride in having as long a heritage as we can discover or make up, even if our actual lineage can be traced back only as far as a very successful New Year's party in 1911.

In other words, it's human nature. They do this sort of thing in every nation, and always have.

Well unless you are a Native American (Indian) you are all immigrants. What is wrong with America is people like you. You said it yourself you have no loyalty, and no pride apparently either. Being -----American does not make you any less American. Knowing where you come from and honoring your past makes you more appreciative of your present and future.

You are a disgrace to any of us you have native blood, and to the human race. Hitler thought there was one God too HIS.

I am not American and I thank God for that every day...no wonder why the world hates Americans...you don't even like those who are you fellow Americans.

You can talk a big game but of course cannot back it up with an email address. It is always easier to be a bigot when you can be anonymous.

Because part of you is always that ethnicity. Insulting their ethnicity is like insulting them. Like I'm mixed and if someone said the n word in front of me I would get pissed. Also they would also defend America if someone said something bad. They are not asking you to worship and adore their country just respect it.

it's just words...

you're putting some "super deep meaning" into it... that 95 percent of America doesn't...

it's just a way to describe... that's it...

everyone I know that "hyphenates" to describe their ethnicity still considers themselves to be American...

that's just their culture... don't you have any culture from your parents? the vast majority of people do...

we don't need to get into a semantics fight over what this word means to you...

if "bannana" means "terrorist" to me... then I wouldn't like "bannanas"... this is just as silly as you implying some hidden meaning to hyphenated terms that you thought up...

American is just a title, but your ethnicity is who you are.
