Well the absolute first thing I would do is reduce my salary as well as the salaries of many higher political positions.

Other things I would try to work on immediately would be:
1. Instituting national garbage and recycling services. I think it would be best to offer Govermenent funds to set up garbage and recycling companies. This would immediately create a large number of jobs that would need to be immediately filled and it would take care of alot of the garbage that gets thrown into streets, water suplies, fields, or gets burned releasing toxic gases into the air. The money from recycling and reselling recycled materials could be put back into the garbage and recycling companys to ensure companies can offer job security as well as keeping trucks and services in optimal condition.

2. Increase international marketing for travel to Egypt. Since one of Egypts main sources of revenue is tourism I would try to get more tourists in. A little information added into commercials may also help to negate some of the negative and stupid comments and questions we are always answering here on Yahoo! Answers. This hopefully would bring in plenty of funds for Egypt since I wouldn't be pocketing it like the current administration.

3. Try to crack down on bribery and police brutatality. I would want to strcitly enforce laws and try to get rid of as many crooked police and political officials as I could and intitute heavy penalties for those engage in bribery. Hopefully the penalties for being caught would be so great that nobody would want to attempt to break the law.

4. I would change the education system completely! It would probably have to be a gradual phasing out of the current sytem over a course of several years but I would like to see all Egyptian children have the same educational opportunities. I don't like that if you didn't do well here or there you won't be able to go to certain high schools or colleges. I think we would be much better off making sure all of our children are well educated in all areas of study. Science and math should be the cornerstone of every childs education not just those who show proficiency in it. I think every child needs to learn reading, writing, math (up to at least algebra), science (chemistry, biology and at least a little bit about physics), history (written from a neutral position not one sided. It should include a basic education about world history and Egyptian history both ancient and current).

5. Make sure no president can serve more than four years a term and no more than two terms in a lifetime. Also, I would gladly leave when my time came to leave instead of trying to bend laws to keep myself in the position. I aslo would not fix elections and would try to develop a secure way for people to vote without fear of being beaten in the streets.

6. Try to implement a national minimum salary based on acurate analyisis of the cost of living. Some businesses may not be able to stay in business if they are used to paying slave wages but at least in the long run more people would be making enough money to live.

7. Increase public health awareness. Have nurses and doctors througout Egypt teach almost like a mini lecture on public health saftey and offer these course for free. Public health centers should be available in every city at least and those centers could implement whatever procedures they deem neccesary in that area to educate people about health and wellness. These local centers could then focus on the specific health concernes of their immediate location.

8. Implement some sort of retirement plan so that when people get older and stop working they can still have some sort of income which is especially improtant if they didn't make enough money when they were working to save much for the future.

9. Enforce traffic laws and try to improve traffic in cities. I would also give some sort of benefit to peopel who carpool to encourage more people to ride together instead of by themselves if four businessmen ususally drive to work seperately but then car pool thats three less cars on the road. Now multiply that by at least 1000's.

10. Create more programs for the poor to help them to get decent housing find decent paying jobs, help get them a better education if they don't already have one, offer them as much assistance as we possible can. Working with international agencies like habitat for humanity and such to create a decent life for everyone in Egypt.

There are so many things I would like to do for Egypt but I think I would start there. There's only so much you can do at one time and I would want to get these pieces to be implemented before focusing too much on other projects for improvement. I believe Egypt could be the greatest country on Earth if we could just get rid of the corrupt practices in politics and business and start caring about the people and the children's future. Egypt has been the greatest civilization on Earth before and we all know it could be again if we could just get past some of these hurdles.

1. Improve Education and health care, I would make the education like this, Children would go to school and there will be no need for private lessons, they will study and revise at school and home, and i would change the exams (that depend on what university you go too.) Because at the moment the children are just memorizing things they're not really learning anything.
2. Like Youssef said, to make a limit of amount of time a president can stay in Office because Mubarak has stayed president for such a long time and when he does resign his son will take over..so no-one else gets a chance!
3. I would make the Egyptian government listen to the people more because in Egypt you can say what you want but it won't get done.
4. Increase salaries, it's ridiculous, Some people can't even buy food never mind having a house and paying for children's private lessons..

God bless and take care...x

1-Limit the time the president spends into office for 5 years with possible re-election for 3 times only . "Currently, the president spends 6 years and he can be re-elected for an infinite number of years.
2- Dividing Egypt into states. With complete independence for each state. Just like what's going on in America. "Now they are governorates and all the powers are in the hands of the president.
3- The governor for each state should be elected not appointed. Nowadays they are appointed.
4- Building a new capital for Egypt instead of Cairo which became so crowded and its situation is hopeless. A capital is the heart of any country and if the heart is not working then the country is not working.
5- Panning soccer - Soccer is the number one sport here in Egypt , just like baseball or football in America - and using all the money spent on it for building new railways and better infrastructure. Such decision will make people go crazy so I might as well be careful about how to do it. Another solution would be selling all the clubs to private companies so they can spend all the money they want to. Currently, all the money is spent by the government.
6- There will be no guards or security whatsoever for all the ministers - equivalent for state secertaries in America- This will make all the high officials work better and care about the interests of the citizens . Otherwise , they will be shot dead instantly by the people. The same will go for everyone including the president.
7 - Inviting all the Egyptian people who have reached high positions overseas to come back and help in the progress of their country.
I can go on like that for ever. What I said is not new to anyone. The way for improvement is obvious for all Egyptian people except for the leaders of the country who care only about their own interests.

Muslim extremists received’t like anybody who's elected, on theory, so their viewpoints concerning gender are inappropriate. Muslim females were precise ministers of Muslim countries interior the previous. Even conservative Muslims have also had to manage females leaders of non-Muslim international places which consists of Merkel, Thatcher and Golda Meir. i imagine the rules of the international places in touch are more desirable substantial to maximum Muslims than the gender of the chief.

Let's see I noticed yesterday that it was stated that Egypt won't allow a woman president right now.

But if I had total freedom to do what I wanted I would take the money from the rich people and distribute it among the poor.

I read where there are at least 200,000 millionaires in Cairo.

I ll make no constraints whatsoever for the people to start political parties.
Let them decide what they want to do with their country.
