I have a baby who is now 11 weeks old. I went to my 6 week check up and was told everything was fine and got put on birth control again. I have been taking it religiously but this morning when I woke up I spotted light pink and then the next time I went it was a brownish color. I was wondering if this is just some break through bleeding because my period and hormones are trying to get back on track or if it is implantation bleeding. I had my period exactly two and a half weeks ago. Birth control is all I am using. Yes I am married, no its not a big deal if I am pregnant again, yes I am calling the doc. on monday to talk to them about it. I was just wondering if this has happened to anyone else after having a baby and getting back on birth control. I am using Ortho Tricyclin Lo. I am having some symptoms but not many..I didnt have any whatsoever with my son at first. I never had implantation bleeding with him either..that is another reason I am wondering. Any help will be great!

I only breastfed him until he was 5 weeks old and then stopped. I am bottlefeeding him now.

i agree with the other two.. it doesnt seem like anything out of the ordinary, and af has a habit of taking months before returning to normal postpartum.
i didnt get my first one until my son was 11 months old (yes, breastfeeding)

if you are nursing, then it isnt foolproof, but its a good chance you arent even ovulating yet.

but it could just be your body getting used to not being pregnant. if youre only 11 weeks in, then your body is still in the middle of all those hormones.
if youve been taking the bc at the same time every day, then you shouldnt be preggers again just yet

Okay, its been about 7 years since I was on the pill, but I know you have to use another form of birth control during your first month on the pill--something you didn't mention if you did or not. It sounds like break through bleeding to me. Sounds like a good plan to call the doc just to double check.

It is very common to spot for the next few months evening being on birth control.

It's probably just some break thru bleeding. You should be using a back up b/c method till the pills kick in.

It is probably because of the low dose of hormones. I wouldn't worry if you have been taking it properly. Are you breast feeding your baby? That would make a difference.
