Im studying Anthropology and Im having trouble understanding the word "variation". I used the dictionary and I still have problem understanding.
Examples from the text:
Selection acts on variation.
Hidden variation is present in continouously varying traits.
Variation in reproductive sucess
Please example the word. No BS answers please.

Just think of variation as the distribution of different outcomes among humans. It can be in terms of gene frequency, nutritional status, education attainment, incidence of a certain disease, etc. It's a very simple concept used to explain the distribution of outcomes within and between groups.

Variation = differences
Variation means an instance of change or the rate or magnitude of change (Wikipedia)
Anthropolgy is the study of humanity. If you were to COUNT how many people are in the world today you could use the government census from each country. If you did another count in 12 months time using the same method you could see some variations i.e. Japan has the least amount of babies born due to their population control and contraceptives, India has the highest rate of babies born due to lack of population control and contraceptives, Countries that have had natural disasters keep their population count down as well
If you and I were to have a fight the winner could be determined by these variations: Experience with fighting, Age, weather, fitness and stamina, height, weight, health, eyesight, arm reach etc

variation is a science~all sciences are conducted by big brother what part of the word no don't u understand the first part or the second part~what ever happened yesterday was a variation and tomarrow big brother will change the methodologies of the think tank to incorporate what they believe they want to feed you or sell you and then that is in course of being the next future that they bring u so u can adjust to the variations that will come and those that have occurred nothing is out of the realm of any word in the world when big brother has applied psychologies to verify~that just one word there are pssszillion other words they have locked~in~step~methodologies, just to help u with variation: if you water them they are like fruits & mellons to be harested
