Ok, I have a presentation coming up in a matter of weeks. It's a spanish class I'm taking, so naturally this presentation is going to have to do something with spanish.

Now of course, I'm not asking anybody here to do my work. I'm only on here seeking some advice/ideas.

Any interesting stories, facts, etc. having to do with any of the numerous spanish speaking countries?

Picture yourself as a student, what would NOT make you bored to death.

I'm a linguist, and a speaker of Spanish as a second language... so I recommend you talk about where Spanish comes from. You could talk about its roots in Latin, and the influence that native american languages have had on Spanish in Central and South America.

Or what about some Spanish slang? Obviously, it shouldn't be something inappropriate for class, but you could look up some common slang terms and explain them.

Good luck :)

Hello!

Well, I would have to mention something relationed with my dear country: Chile.

The longest country of te world, between the Pacific Ocean and Los Andes. A country of poets, two Nobel Prize: Gabriela Mistral and Pablo Neruda. And other famous personalities as Augusto Pinochet (for some a cruel dictator, for others, the deliverer of comunism), Isabel Allende (writer), Leonor Varela (actress), Fernando González, Marcelo Ríos, Nicolás Massú (tenis players), etc.

But, mmm, I think I'm boring you. If you want to talk of something funny of Latin America, you could consider the most particular president: Hugo Chávez, pres. of Venezuela. He uses to say so ridiculous things, likes to attack U.S., and anybody who is not a friend to him... U could mention something about the emigrants. You must know that a lot of people wants to go from Mexico to U.S., but that situation hapen in other places: Perú to Chile. Argentina to Spain. Etc.
Well, I got no time to keep on boring you! Got to go.
I hope something that I mentioned help you in any way.

Greetings from Chile. Fabián.
If u want, u can write to me. pa251080@yahoo sabumafu700@hotmail

You can talk about ETA.

Why? That's not a funny subject, of course; but I think is important to talk the other people about terrorism and its consequences.

If you need any help (I supose you must talk in Spanish, aren't you?), you can count on me; I'm spanish.

Good luck!
