Any professional who tells you that you need to stop breastfeeding after one year needs to go back to his/her job at the dairy farm or the formula factory (or be reported to the AMA). Any doctor can tell you that the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends breastfeeding for at LEAST one year and that the World Health Organization and UNICEF both recommend breastfeeding for at least two years. I am still happily breastfeeding my healthy 13-month old, with eight teeth, and without any pain at all. Do your research.

Professionals only recommend breastfeeding up to 1year of age. A lot of people stop at 6months and switch to formula. I only know one person who actual feed the whole year. I thought it was kinda weird though because whenever my niece was feeding if someone came in she would detach, look at you, then go back to feeding and she would do that the whole time you were in the room with her. Also they have teeth that old too. She also sometimes would pull at my sisters shirt or pull it up. I think that's when you need to ween them.
Umm breastfeeding for me was very painful, but if it's done right and you can get through the 1st two weeks it shouldn't hurt. But it's not sexual at all. All I thought about the days that I did feed was that I was giving my baby the best food she could get.
I will tell you that now anytime my fiance tries to touch my chest I freak out now. I don't know why, but I don't want to be touched there. It's getting a little annoying now.
Good Luck!

Technically as long as there is a demand. There are some women who breatfeed past age 5. It shouldn't be painful no matter who's feeding. I doubt any grown man wants enough milk to keep up the supply, they'd both have to work from home to nurse every couple hours. At that point it's definately sick.

As long as you keep brestfeeding you could actually brestfeed for the rest of your life (not that your child would like that or sosiaty) in africa they brestfeed well into the two diget numbers (like 10 years old). As for the boyfriends/husbands likeing it that all depends on the guys I am sure some out there do like it not that I know of any myself. As for the last part of the question I am not sure I understand it.

as long as they want to. back in the old days, we're talking WAY back. peasant women used to nurse the children of the people they worked for. the oldest women to have done this nursed children for something like 50 years. breastfeeding is not a sexual act. i'm sure that like anything else, it can be for some people, but for the masses no.

The way I understand is that as long as the woman keeps breast feeding the milk will keep flowing. That is what stimulates the milk production after all the constant feeding. The more milk you use the more that your glands create.

All depends on how much breastmilk your body can produce.

gross that's perverted. My cousin breast fed until her son was about a year, but her supply gradually got less.
