Probably not, but they had different goals from Pizarro's expedition. Pizarro was looking for short-term riches, while the virginian settlers generally came to do just that, settle. Pizarro had no need to live alongside the native Americans, and so they had more lattitude to be brutal to the natives.

Another reason that the Spanish acted in a more uncivilized manner than the Virginians is that the Spanish expedition was mostly made up of professional soldiers who were used to being brutal to civilian populations. The European wars of the 16th and 17th centuries were fairly bloody affairs, with whole towns being wiped out, and the European soldiers were used to this style of warfare.

Of course. And unlike Pizarro's band, the Virginia settlers were obedient to their royal motherland.

You just said it yourself man!

Virginia SETTLERS.
They came to stay.

Pizarro's BAND.
Rape, pillage, and plunder.

I'd rather have a new CIVILIZED neighbor than someone come in, rip me off, rape my neighbor's kid, and steal my car.
