It's about 240 miles from Las Vegas to the primary area known as the South Rim. Several tour companies as well as scheduled bus operators run the route in case you choose not to drive.

There is NO WAY you could do that in four hours and nine minutes. No problem driving the limit (75) down to Kingman ... but from there it is two lane road all the way to the Hoover Dam, and from there it is still another forty five minutes (or more) to the Strip depending on traffic.

Allow six to seven hours.
