All matter has tensile strength. How many pounds of pull can be applied to a wire/rope/string before it parts. A Racket is a device that allows strings to be woven in a pattern. Nylon strings can be found in solid strands or micro threads woven (twisted) to gather. A twisted fibrous strand can withstand more tension than a solid string. The higher the tension the greater the resistance of impact. The combination of the swing of the racket and the spring tension of the fibers allows the player to give velocity to the ball as it is met. The higher the velocity the greater control has the player. There is no rational to limit the ability of a player by a change in tension of the racket. If you are beginning the sport match the tension to your physical strenght. The response of the ball upon impact should match your skill. Some players will change rackets during play to offset the opponent.

The tension of a racquet is how tight the strings on the racquet are pulled. Even beginning and intermediate players have different pounds recommended. It is mostly based on the comfort of how your racquet feels. For beginners, they should string at approximately 58 pounds and intermediates should string at about 63 pounds. There is not really a guide to how many pounds to string, but most racquets are strung at 58-68 pounds. Mostly, it is about the comfort and feel of the strings and racquet.

the tension is just how tight the strings are strung, this is usually measured in pounds. The normal tension is about 65, but it depends on how you hit the ball and what type of racquet you use as to how tight the strings are strung. Eg. some players who hit the ball hard either need a flexible frame with loose to medium strings to generate their power, or a stiff frame with tight to medium strings to control the ball and generate all of the power themselves
note:the tighter the strings: the more control, the harder the feel, the more spin, the faster swing speed.
