This is Classanova, my new baby. He's a QH, and will be 2 in March. Do you think he will get much bigger? He's currently 15h. The pictures were taken about a week after his castration. Thanks!

Goodness! He sure is big for an almost 2 year old. My mare is 6 an she just now quit growing upwards and now is putting on muscle. she is appy. Your horse is soo beautiful. He will keep growing until he is about 5 or 6. The first 3 years are big growing years so I don't like to ride them during that time. I'm gonna bet he'll grow to be 15.5 to 16 hands. After his 3rd year he'll only grow 2 or 3 inches each year until he's about 5 or 6. My grandma had a quarter horse from the time he was a yearling and when she got him he was 14.5 hands and when he turned 2 he was 15 hands, on his third b-day he was 16.1, and by the time he was 6 years old he had topped out at 17 hands!!

Yes, he will. Rule of thumb is, if a horse is 'higher' behind than at the wither, then he'll at *least* grow so his wither matches his quarters.

Also, an old wives' tale suggests a horse will mature to one hand for each inch measured on his front cannon bone.

Not so sure about the second one, but I can see Classanova is higher behind. So he'll at least level out.

Handsome horse btw... ;)

He's beautiful. That reminds me of my horse, Pal, when he was 2. Yeah he'll still grow.
