A malicious attempt to kill someone using a vehicle.

It is when you drive your vehicle into a person with the knowledge that it would probably cause death but were unsuccessful. For example, you are at a crosswalk and the pedestrian crosses right in front of you. Instead of trying to stop, you accelerate. You could be charged with this offense.
