If aliens did exist and the government knew about it they would never tell us. Can you imagine the religious chaos that would follow. Some people would be very angry and confused. That's ONLY if there were aliens and the government announced it...but isn't it a bit selfish to think that the US government would be the only government that knows about it? The United States is only a fraction of the area of the Earth...there are so many other places around the globe that could possibly encounter evidence of U.F.O.'s. Some governments wouldn't be able to keep a secret... yet no one has turned up credible evidence backing the existance of Aliens.

My science teacher works for NASA, and would have been qualified to be an astronaut had it not been for her athsma. If there were aliens, trust me, the media would be on it instantly. My teacher knows a lot about secretive government things (at least space related ones) and she says that if the USA govt were to discover alien life, they'd be SURE to let it be known that they discovered it. A kind of "in your face, Russia" thing. They would have no reason to conceal it from the public.

The government does not want to cause chaos and panic. It will also set off religious turmoil. Plus, the govt. lies about everything anyway.
