otherwise they would probably be unicorns - then pigs could fly or cows jump over the moon, and we'd have talking spoons and dishes. blame darwin and evolution for that.

Donkeys are of the family Equus.(Equus is horses, zebras, asses, burros, mules, and whatnot. They all have 3 to 4 toes that formed into 1 big hoof.) All equines don't have horns, they are not related to goats or cows so they don't have them. They evolved to be fast and agile so they could run from predators instead of having to fight them. They just don't need them.

Horses, donkeys, mules and zebras do not have horns ever. It's just the way they are.......they do not have cloven hooves either. This question is equivalent to asking why don't monkeys have antennias, or why don't kittens have tusks.....they just don't need them.

Because they belong to the equus species who defend themselves by kicking back with the hind legs and striking down with the front legs. . .whereas other split hoofed horned animals defend themselves with the horns

Donkeys didnt have horns way back then either. Donkeys were first made by breeding a remale horse with a male *** I think im not sure or a Burro.
