I too was upset about Sams elimination!
I've been a fan both seasons & have never missed an episode.
I also visit Bravos website & have read all the blogs & seen all the bonus videos.
Quite the TC Addict I am!
But you have to put things in perspective.
It is a reality show! That means it is anything BUT real!
Did you know that as a result of somebody taking the "show" WAY too seriously, Marcel was actually hit over the head with a bottle by some irate fan in Las Vegas last week & received 30 stitches?
Trust me, I couldn't stand his annoying ways all season long but IT"S A REALITY SHOW !!!!!!!
It is editted & portrayed MUCH differently than it really was!
To get a better persective, I'm going to give you a link.
The link below will give you actual interviews with each of the contestants as they were eliminated,
Since these interviews are NOT with Bravo......you'll get a MUCH truer idea as to what REALLY happens behind the scenes.
Go & listen to each interview & you'll see what I mean.
http://www.chow.com/stories/10424
After gaining this perspective, I wouldn't miss the Finale.
I really don't care who wins.......
It's just entertainment!
& It Will Be Entertaining!!!!
Four previously eliminated chefs come back to assist in the Final Episode!
That's Right!!!!!
Sam
Elia
Betty
&
Michael ARE ALL THERE !
How Freaking Entertaining can that be?????????????
I can't wait!
By the way....if you listen real carefully ...to all the interviews ...I think you'll see that Marcel really DID cheat, earlier in the season & got some of his recipes & ingredients (which they were NOT allowed to bring with them) confiscated!
Also that the 'head shaving incident' did NOT happen the way it was portrayed on TV.
& Sam is not upset about his elimination.....It is just a TV show &
"This does not define who you are as a chef" quote from Michael to one of the 'booted' chefs.
So Get a grip, & watch the Finale!!!
You know you want to!!!!
LOL! LOL! LOL! LOL! It's NOT REAL!

Elia's voice made me cringe without even looking at her. Marcel is not a bad person, just has bad hair. He's not a total a s s like Stephen was in last season. Marcel definitely knows what he's doing. I'm more confused about Ilan being there. If it weren't for the "incident" in the previous episode, I heartily believe that Cliff would be there and be the overall winner. Same for Mia dropping out. They were both strong contenders. Sam and Elia and Ilan are not; sorry.

Actually Elan and Elia wom more times than Sam. Marcel was a distant runner up to them. Betty won more times than Marcel.
At any rate I don't find it amazing given the hazing incident. They probably gave marcel a bye at that point. They should have just given him the title at that point according to the rules. All three of the other chefs had something to do with Cliff being kicked off for wrestling with Marcel. He wasn't even one of the people getting their head shaved, although I have to believe it was his clipper.
The good news is Marcel lost in the finals. I looked up his stats on wikipedia nad they reported Elan won. So at leat there is some sense in all of this.
They have since removed the information.

Marcel is a punk!
But Marcel is also a smart little short punk in the culinery world... He does know his stuff... I have watched every episode at least 4 x..
I thought it would come down to the chick who shaved her head and Marcel as a tie and then Sam.
I cannot stand the little comments that Marcel has been making about everyone but then again they all have too.
I believe the two lady judges like him and have been guarding his corner way too much and after the past episode with the head guy, the bald one, he has too.
Marcel was plain lucky this past week and that was all it was.
I didn't want to see him there and not up against someone much weaker. I think he is going to win win win...
And do I want that? Not really ... like they said, "it is not a personality show, but a cooking show."
And it looks like he may win it.. Darn!
I really may not watch.
His last remark about being happy to have whats his name being his final competitor and not Sam really sucked. And for that lousy remark? I hope he fails!
But most likely he won't...
He is VERY good at what he knows, says, and cooks. and he listens very carefully to details and what is expected of him.... So for that.....
The arogant prick!

I'm not losing sleep over it or anything but I was surprised they let Sam go...I actually thought it was going to be between Sam and Ilan or Cliff before the Marcel incident...I didn't realize that they judge on the dish on that episode not on overall performance, but once I found that out, I thought , oh, its the producers call because Marcel brings drama into it because no one seems to like him but supposedly, the judges always make the call so...go figure...to me, from some of the judges faces, it seemed a tough call...btw, Sam was voted viewer favorite and won $10,000

I was quite shocked when they sent Sam home for the very same reasons as you pointed out. I bet Sam feels that he got ripped off ( I would too if I was Sam). He was the most consistent in terms of making good food. I guess the final will be interesting because both Marcel and Ilan both hate each other and it will be nice to see who wins...

I'm a huge fan too and I agree. In fact, I really thought it would be Elia and Sam in the final two - big disappointment. But you know the problem with Top Chef is that unlike other reality shows like Idol, Top Model and So You Think You Can Dance is that with these shows we can clearly see (and hear) who is the best is. With Top Chef, we don't get to taste the food, so how do we know who the best is?

i become chuffed that it turned right into a lady who finally received proper Chef. I loved Stephanie all alongside. at the same time as i did not like Lisa she did do an truly strong pastime in this very last meal. I felt undesirable for Richard because he's this variety of strong chef. He choked, in his words, and that i could not help yet imagine about Casey from Season 3. She did an same component contained in the merely correct eliminating challenge. Edit: Casey become drawing close strong the irritating circumstances as a lot because the finale. She merely appeared to choke at the same time as cooking the meal for the merely correct challenge.

I disagree about Marcel. He's a great chef; keep in mind that it was his use of alchemy that truly showed his courage in the last competition; however, Sam played it safe as Chef said, and he didn't cook a thing.
I'm glad that Ilan made it to the finals, but sad for miss Elia. I liked her a lot. In the end, though, she disappointed me with her poor judgment; ratting out Marcel did nothing because he didn't cheat that night, and all it accomplished was making her look petty, as if trying to salvage herself from being eliminated.
Ha ha, Cliff did deserve what he got. You have to admit that. He turned out to be a very nasty man.
In the end, when it comes down to the cooking and not the persona of the chefs, I believe Elia should of won.
And speaking of personas -- this entire crew was disgraceful ...
Meh. Mikey won my heart.

I used to enjoy the show but after that episode with Marcel going into the final round I have sworn off watching it ever again. I know that they like drama to win ratings but the kids is a brat and from what i can see cant even cook....Oh well...next season I might not even bother to watch
