Not that I am aware, but the Federal Government gives grants to help with the upkeep of Historical home sites. What this means for you if you own a historical home is that if you apply for the grants you will end up spending less money on home maintainence than you would for any other home. Conversely, if you don't apply you will spend more.

I don't think that it can be removed since a house like "the birthplace of Lincoln" will always be that. But you can lose funding for it if start to redecorate. The use of modern technology to replace old style ways would hurt the integrity of the old style ways that were used. They want you or whoever to admire the use of the old ways and the materials to reach that point.
