i'm below 5'5 and i wouldn't like to be any taller... some disadvantages about being tall are that you might have some difficulties finding a guy taller than you... and also if you find one shorter, theres a hard chance that he'll like a taller girl... some advantages of being tall is that you can see above peoples heads in crowded places and see where you are going. I guess its pretty much equal :)

Depending how tall we are talking, I would be willing to push myself to play basketball very well. That is if I was like 7 foot or so.

In other words, if I was real tall, I could be a pro basketball player. Then I could make some good money. Rather than working at a automotive factory, hopping that I will still have job in the future.

Hmmm... disadvantages of being tall?
Harder to find pants that are long enough.
There are way too many short men out there these days.
Sometimes you are mistaken for being older than you are.
Sometimes people stare and ask, "how tall are you."
or "Do you play basket ball."
I find this disturbing to be asked such stupid questions.
ha
I don't find any disadvantages now being tall but growing up as a teen it totally sucked!
I couldn't get a date and it was a hasstle at times with my age.. I always looked older..
The best thing was that no one would mess with me .
They were afraid I would whoop up on them.. that was the funny part... I loved it.....5'11"

Unless you can get a job at the circus freak side show there is no disadvantage to being tall. I'm 5'3" and the shortest person in my family. I have 2 female cousins over 6'. My family wanted them to be models or basketball players and thanked god I had being smart to fall back on?

I'm 5'10", pretty tall for a woman. When I was in my teens I hated it! I used to slouch because I was so much taller than most of my friends and even some of the guys I hung out with. I felt wierd. Now that I'm older I love being tall, and even love wearing heals to make me look and feel even taller. You just get a nice long, lean look. Never dumpy or frumpy. When you walk into a room in a sexy dress you get a lot of attention. It's just nice and impressive.

5'6" is short. I'm at an average height of 5'11". Being tall is good for reaching the top shelf in your kitchen cupboard. However if you fall down, it's a long way to go.

But one gets used to the air down here.

p.s. if 5' 6 is giraffe, where do you live?

For women, socially speaking, being tall makes it harder for dating and socializing, and it also hurts your back - but this is more physical.

Other than that, it's great being tall.

For men, socially speaking, it is a stigma to be short, so being tall is great. Also, for every inch over 6 feet a man happens to be, statistically speaking they can expect $1000 more per year than a shorter counterpart. That shows you how height can be monetized.
Being a tall man may also give you back pains.

But overall, it's good.

Advantages: taller than all the snotty 5'5 girls that spit on you in the hallway (they have to look up to you, great pun)

Disadvantages: You run into stuff and bump your head a lot. It sucks.

i found a twin! the best things about being tall are:

you have a model's body (usually)
you can look good in almost anything
you can wear almost anything
you have long legs (which men love!)
you won't have trouble with things fitting somewhere, in the legs, and being too tight or baggy somewhere else (like short curvy people do)

disadvantages:

you have to tailor lots of things
