where can i find apartments for rent in Alaska (Fairbanks & Anchorage area) I have tried apartments.com and rent.com but there arent many posted there and are kind of expensive...

Apartments are not cheap, even in the lesser parts of Anchorage or Fairbanks. You might stick to outlying areas to lessen the financial heart attack that is coming.
Anchorage: Eagle River, Chugiak, Birchwood, Wasilla, Palmer
Fairbanks: North Pole, Fox, Goldstream

Both are in Anchorage. Rents here are on the high side, but it really depends on the location of town and what utilities are included.
