I would like to send a script to Disney. I already have the address but how do I make sure that they will accept it?

The first thing you should do is register and/or copyright your script. you can register your script online by visiting the writers guild of america @ www.wga.org. you really don't need an agent to submit, but that would help, more importantly is registering your "concept/idea/story."

once that is done call or write disney and ask for a submission release form. they will not accept an unsolicited script. send in your script with the release form and then wait...they'll either say they're not interested, they want to option it or they want to buy it. for the latter get legal assistance.

an option means they hold the right to buy the script by a certain date. in other words they pay you for the script, not to produce it, but to hold it until they decide what they want to do - which means actually buying it.

so first and foremost get it registered then the release form. after that send it off and good luck!

Get an agent.

I tried this 5 years ago with a "Little Mermaid" script and blew up.

Disney does NOT accept unsolicited scripts and it must come from an established agency, as they do not want ANY charges of plagiarism leveled against them

write a goddamned good script.

Or become drinking buddies with some Disney insiders.

Even better yet, work for disney and establish a good rep for solid writing.

You can't. All you can do is send it and hope it's good enough.
