Perhaps most people don't think about dying, or whether or not they are afraid of it. Most people are too busy working, living and dealing with the mundane, small details of life to actually consider this question in depth. I have sat, and held the hands of two poeople who died in my family and sadly, lost five or six friends so far, accidents, cancer....even natural, old age. And not once did any of them express fear...it was almost a great relief. They went quietly, except for the accident victims, it happend to fast. Perhaps the speed of it was a blessing.

If I am dying from an illness, I probably won't be afraid. In my opinion, I would tell the person (who is very ill and can't take care of themselves and had to be confined at the icu or ecu) that it is okay to go if he or she wants that way they are not in pain. My father-in-law died the day after my husband and I flew to Vancouver Island. Mom, hubby and I were by his side and we were talking about thewedding videos and I said it is okay if he wants to go mom will be okay. Then hubby made the promise and dad opened his eyes, don't know if he was staring at us or the light at the end. He left after taking 2 painful breaths.

I am not afraid of death, because death itself is as natural as life is. Only our biological existence makes us think that death is the greatest evil and that it is something not fair.
Actually death is not the worst evil rather than we wish to die and cannot.
Men are but flesh and blood. They know their doom, but not the hour. In this a medium is blessed to see the hour of his death. To face his eternal fate, than fall...
For most people: Our end is coming but we have no chance and reason to see or stop it.

I'd like to have a few words with some of the people who have passed before me. I talk to them all the time, but I never get any answers. When I get to the place where they are we're all going to have lots to talk about.
