Spermatozoids can live in the female body up to 7 days, so they can come in contact with an egg in that lapse of time... once they reach the egg, in the half third of the uterine tube, it travels to the uterus, where it will "implant" and develop.

So the lapse could take from hours, to days.

I read your other question; Plan B prevents the fertilized egg from implanting in the uterus. It can take a few minutes for the egg to be fertilized, or it can take a few days (depends on if you are ovulating at the time and the quality of the sperm).

semen can live inside the woman for 5-7 days...once it has been ejaculated in the vagina by the male, it travels into the uterus and then up the fallopian tube where it will look for an egg that has been released by an ovary...once they join, it takes another 3-5 days for it to travel back down the fallopian tube to implant into the endometrium
so 8-12 days...

It can take up to four days for the sperm to get to the egg and another three days for implantation

On average, less than a few hours.

Don't be stupid. Use a condom unless you're ready for a family.
