i am trying to come up with a list of war movies that i remember watching as a kid - primarily ones that took place during the WW2 focusing on escape plots. "the great escape" of course is one, but there are severala others... can you help? escape from colditz is another (where they build a plane in a castle but this is unavailable on DVD - anyone have a copy from the TV?)

Victory- it starred Max Von syndow, Micheal caine, Pele and Slyvester stallone. It was about a bunch of german pows that decide to hold a soccer match with the guards. it gets taken beyond their control and the germans decide to have the german national team play the prisoners in paris. Of course the prisoners win and then escape into the crowd at the end of the movie.

well sort of escape..
it deals with a out numbered, out gunned nationa guard unit having to defend a piping station in alaska from Soviet troops as America tries to avert nuclear war.
