Yes, it's 30 days in Texas (unless you're remarrying the person you just divorce).

EDITED THIS TO ADD:

Quantumstate is wrong. Many states have a waiting period.

So, I went and looked it up for you (even though I already knew the answer)

Per the Texas Family Code:
6.801. REMARRIAGE.
(a) Except as otherwise provided by this subchapter, neither party to a divorce may marry a third party before the 31st day after the date the divorce is decreed.
(b) The former spouses may marry each other at any time.

Now in Texas, you can get a “waiver of prohibition against remarriage” but you have to go to court to get it and you have to show ‘good cause’ so the reason better be much more than just “I don’t want to wait”

I'm not sure about the waiting period. But ethically, don't you want your family to know that you waited a bit. If you marry immediately, it makes you look like you cheated. At least have some time to be sure.
When you remarry, don't make the same mistake from your first.

Yes unless there is a compelling reason to marry sooner (girlfriend is in labor). Call the county courthouse and ask for the family court clerk. They will be happy to answer your Question and keep you legal.

quantumstate-You are wrong.

In Oklahoma you there is a 6 months wait period and it goes in all decrees. You shouldn't assume anything like that. And anyone else needs to look at there divorce papers, everything you need to know is in there and if not, contact your lawyer for answers.

As long as the divorce is finalized there is no waiting period ANYWHERE! As long as it's legal then a person can remarry anytime and any place. However that's no excuse to just go out and get married again. A person may want or need to wait until starting out again. It's a moral and ethical issue that is up to each and every different individual to decide.

probably not, but there should be. too often when a marriage ends it is easy to get into another relationship because it is a different relationship but you should first consider why the marriage ended, what you want in a new relationship, and have time to heal before getting back into a committment of any kind.

I think it is 3 months, I remember my step Dad having to wait that long so he said to remarry. So I am guessing but that is an experience I had.

hey Kris how's S.A.? I use to live in that county for five years. I don't believe that you have to wait more that 24 hours after the divorce is final.

Once you leave your cousin you can remarry again. There is no waiting period.
