THE MIND IS A VERY POWERFUL TOOL THAT ABSORBS A LOT OF INFORMATION, CONSCIOUSLY & UNCONSCIOUSLY & PROCESSES THE SAME IN A MANNER THAT IS NOT YET FULLY UNDERSTOOD.
I HAVE HAD DREAMS OF SEXUALLY ENGAGING WITH COMPLETE STRANGERS, BUT A FEW TIMES I HAVE MANAGED TO DECHIPER THE DREAM, WHERE THE PERSON HAPPENED TO BE SOMEONE ATTRACTIVE THAT CROSSED MY WAY ON A FOOTPATH OR IN A MALL OR WAS A VERY OLD ACQUAINTANCE, WHOM I WAS NOT IN TOUCH WITH FOR MORE THAN A DECADE.
PREVENTION OF THIS PHENONMENA IS SOMETHING I CANNOT ADVICE YOU ON AS I DO NOT KNOW THE ANSWERS, BUT CAN TELL YOU THAT YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS HAD EXPERIENCES OF THIS KIND.
MAYBE IT IS A FANTASY, JUST A DREAM OR A DISTANT REALITY...... BUT HONESTLY DO NOT READ TOO MUCH INTO IT. IF YOU HAVE A MATURE RELATION WITH YOUR PARTNER, MAYBE YOU CAN BRING THIS OUT & TALK WITH HIM.

A lot of times in dreams, things are not what they seem. So, try to think about what that dream might mean to you -- is there something you feel like you are missing in your relationship with your husband? Does your friend have a name that might be connected to something you feel your are missing in life? (For example, if his name is "Rich" you might be thinking of money.)
If you can't think of anything, try and relax and enjoy them without too much guilt. It *might* be just what it seems -- you have a little crush on your co-worker. It's OK to have a crush, as long as you don't act on it and destroy your family. What happens in dream life is really beyond your control, but what you choose to do in real life *is* under your control.
Try not to beat yourself up about it. But, if it bothers you, you really need to find out what that dream is trying to tell you.

If there's this AMAZING tension whenever you see your friend, then you are attracted to them.
There's no way to ever stop that from happening.
You cannot prevent having these dreams, but you can tell someone close and then the dreams might go away.
You may even tell the "dream date" and maybe they'll think it's a lark.

Never a good idea to pursue relationships in the workplace. Everything is fine if they work out well; however, most of the time, relationships are transitory and suddenly you find yourself in an uncomfortable situation once things so sideways.
As for working this through, I suggest some sort of meeting with a female therapist. Typically, these sorts of things, especially a repeated dream, are indicating something deep down inside, something you may be repressing -- perhaps there is something missing in your own relationship. Seek professional guidance, and move forward. Best of luck.

One of the most common dream themes is about sex. From a clinical perspective, dream images of sexuality are rarely, if ever, expressions of “love.” In the unconscious—the origin of all dreams—sexual images and feelings signify a narcissistic need to be seen or to be noticed as a way to compensate for a deep fear of being abandoned or ignored.

This will pass. A former schoolmate of mine had sexual dreams about the strangest and overweight person whom we all knew but never met in person. Just like that out of the blue. Sometimes a sexual dream occurs when you glimpse someone you haven't seen in ages....
In your case I believe the dreams will stop abruptly one day. happened to me before.

Many times sexual dreams stem from something completely different. I think this can reflect concerns regarding your workplace environment. And has nothing at all to do with your loyalty to your husband and children.

Having sex with someone in a dream just means you feel very close to that person. It doesn't necessarily mean you want to sleep with them. Since you are happily married, you have nothing to worry about, right?

No there is nothing you can do to prevent it. It means very little, other than you are sexually attracted to your friend. Your sexual fantasy towards your husband is fullfilled and its not towards your friend.
Just show some restraint and stay with your husband. Unless you really want to destroy your relationship with him and your children
