I'm 40 wks pregnant and my hips started hurting from about 3 months pregnant all the way up until this day. All of your joints start to loosen up to prepare for the baby and especially your hips since they need to spread. A couple things that helped me was a pregnancy pillow such as a snoogle. I can't sleep without it. I also bought a foam mattress topper and I just switch sides a bunch throughout the night. My Doc also said that even though they say not to sleep on your back, as long as you have a slight elevation under one side such as a thin pillow then it's ok and helps take the pain off your hips. Unfortunately it's just one more of those fun symptoms of being pregnant, but the way I try to look at it is that at least it's preparing me for the lack of sleep I'll be getting after the baby is here!

Hips are spreading. They need to "spread" in order for the baby to go through the birth canal. Painful, yes. Just have to wait it out. You could also try a heating pad. Just put it on your hips for five minutes and off for five minutes, keep alternating it. That may provide some relief.

Your hips are hurting because they are seporating getting ready for the baby to go threw them. My hips felt like that as well with my son and now I am 15 weeks pregnant with my second child and my hips already hurt like that. So it is normal no worries your hips will stop hurting after you give birth.

I'm 35 weeks and feel the same. It's probably a combination of pressure from baby getting heavier, plus your pelvis preparing for birth, plus baby pushing in areas that it's not comfy to be pushed in.
Not long now!!!

The pressure of the baby, and your hips are starting to spread to allow for the baby's passage down the birth canal.... it will go away after the baby comes.

I had horrible hip pain during my last trimester. It's caused by your joints and ligaments softening and stretching in preparation for birth. A couple of things worked for me- try sleeping with a pillow to support your back, one under your belly and one between your knees. (I'm assuming that you're sleeping on your side)
Also, if you're sitting a lot during the day, try sitting on a balance ball. This helped me a lot during work.
Good luck, I hope this helps!

Try some "Sore No More" ...
It is an all natural product and you can buy it off the Internet ...
It works better than anything else I have tried ... and is kinda like Icy Hot ... but without the smell and it will not hurt the baby ...
again ... it is all natural ... and it works wonders ....

im 38 weeks and i have the same problem, it mostly hurts when im sleeping too since i sleep on my sides, i asked my doctor and she said its because of the blood flow and your laying on them all night, or it could be your hips expanding as your dialating and your baby is descending down into your pelvis, congrats and good luck with your labor hope everything goes well and smooth and HOPEFULLY pain free~

well i think that it is because your baby's head and compressing onto your pelvis it is making them hurt. just sit, walk or take a shower, it may bring on true contractions also. good luck and congrats on the baby

The baby has probably dropped. If that is the case it shouldn't be too long before you can hold her in your arms. Good Luck
