If your son was under 17 at the end of 2006 and didn't provide more than half of his support and lived with you for more than half of 2006 (with some exceptions) then you can claim him for Child Tax Credit. You may also claim him for Earned Income Credit as long as you qualify. Check out both these credits on the irs.gov website.

If he's still 16, yes. If he turned 17 in 2006, no. You can only claim the child tax credit if the child is under 17. Look it up in the instructions. The people who say 18 are not correct.

I believe that he is eligible until he is 18 years of age. This also might continue after high school if he is a full time student and you are supporting him. I would check with an accountant.

If I remember correctly, the child tax credit is claimed by the parent of guardian of the chilld-- not by the child himself.

i Beleive he is eligible until he turns 18 or moves out
