I enjoy learning new things and some answers and question can be quite helpful.
and it's a way to interact with people without actually having to be with them or through chats or things like that.

All of the above, except 7 and 8. I have enough friends in real life, and I don't come here to engage in relationships. Usually just to answer some questions for all of the other reasons mentioned. (But I only like to be a butt to the really stupid questions. I figure that a really bad question deserves a really bad answer.) And sometimes, I don't want to be rude, but just a smart-alek. Depends on my mood. I usually prefer to try to be helpful though. It's usually for addiction, boredom, to try to give good answers, etc. Sometimes the controversial questions (politics and religion) are a lot of fun to jump into, simply for the sake of controversy.

I'm a combination. I've got nothing better to do, I'm addicted, and I've got some good information to use to answer people's questions. I'm a math teacher, so I like to help people with their homework.

If there were no points and no pride of getting the best answer, I don't think I'd be here.
