no!! Sorry but anyone who says you can put 2 hamsters in a cage together must've not had hamsters ever. They might enjoy the company when theyre babies but as soon as they turn into adults, they'll fight constantly, possibly even killing each other. We had 2 litter mates that started fighting when they turned into adults. We had to seperate them. This has happened with everyone I know that tried to put 2 hamsters together. If you put a male and a female together you'll have 300 babies before you know it. Trust me, hamsters are territorial and prefer to live alone. If you want to give him a buddy while he's a baby, prepare to have 2 separate cages when they grow up..or 2 bloody hamsters

Hamsters are very territorial, if you add one in now, odds are they will fight. Odds are one will kill the other one. You might get lucky and pick up two that just happen to get along, but I doubt it.
When we bought our hamsters, we bought both of ours out of the same cage at the pet store, we're pretty sure both the males we picked up were siblings. We watched them very closely for the first couple of weeks, and no fighting between them, so we left them together. They've been together ever since, never had a problem.
If you want to keep two together, best thing to do is try and buy two at a time, and two from the same cage at the pet store. But even then, no guarantees, you still maybe forced to separate them.

Take it from someone who has watched hamsters kill each other.
They don't want roommates. Get toys instead. He will be much happier.
PS. The fight was so fast and so fierce I couldn't stop it, or save the hamster.
They were siblings and together their whole lives, so don't believe anyone who says get them together as babies. It doesn't matter.
The person who says put different hamsters together is crazy. NEVER do that. They don't know what they are talking about.

If you want a friend for your dwarf, get a large breed like a Teddy Bear hamster. We have 10 dwarfs and all have a Teddy bear or another large breed for a companion. You don't need to worry about mixing males and females since they can't breed, it's genetically impossible. Our mixing of the two breed in cages has also had a calming effect on even our wildest Dwarf. If should get another dwarf and it was the same sex, they would fight over territory and the older will try to kill the younger one. Read the information on the site below on hamsters. Although it may not tell you what we've learned from experience.

HELL NO!!!!!!!!!!!
HAMSTERS MAY SEEM LONELY BUT THEY AREN'T!!!
They'll eat eachothers guts out if you put them together!!!
And also, dwarf hamsters fight until they drop...
DON'T PUT ANOTHER HAMSTER WITH YOURS!!!
If you really want multiple hamsters in the same cage then you should buy Roborovskis but they don't like petting.
Please don't do anything stupid! I had to give a dwarf hamster to my sister because he fought with another hamster! They are still alive but my sister's hamster is missing an ear :(( and mine has got a scar on his nose :(((((

No! Hamsters are VERY territorial and may try to kill each other. I may be adopting a hamster that someone put in with another AGAINST all advice and now it may not live because it has had the base of it's kneck chewed up the size of a dime.
PLEASE don't put another hamster in with your current hamster. It is very happy on it's own.

No...When I was a kid, my mom bought my cousin & I both a hampster for Christmas. They was in the same cage just for 1 night until we could give my cousin her hampster on Christmas day. Well unfortunately they fought & one hampster killed the other. Do your self a favor and don't try giving your hampster a friend. He's probably use to living alone and may not like sharing his space. If you get another hampster you could end up with tons of unwanted babies.

Normally, hamsters are solitary by natural and will attempt to kill the other one if they enter their territory. Im not sure about a nuetral unmakred area though. I let my hamster play with my rabbit and she didnt do anything, check the internet to make sure though. Go to a place neither hamster has been before. And it would be a good idea not to hold them at the same time becuase your hamster may have marked you as THEIR human and attack they other one if they sit on you.
