There are alot of great answers already. My advice would be to take genuine interest in what you are learning. Try to figure out what is going on, why things happen, and how this applies to real situations rather than what equations do I use or how do I plug the numbers in. Don't think you can sit down in one night and memorize everything before the test. You will fail EVERY time using that strategy. Get plenty of rest, eat right, exercise, find something to relieve stress like a sport, club, musical group, and don't give up. If you get stuck on a problem, move to the next one and come back later. Finally, the most important thing of all: if you don't understand something ASK QUESTIONS to the professor, TA, other students, other professors, anyone that might know an answer. Good luck.

I have the absolute answer to this, it does not fail.
It is .... do every problem in the book when you do your homework, and then for stuff you do not understand really well, do them again. Show your work, every step so that when you do make a mistake you can find it and track it down easily without going crazy trying to do it in your head.
Write your problems down, and set them up so that if you look at them at the end of the term you can go back and remember what you were thinking and how the problem flowed.
Write explanations, draw pictures, whatever it takes, but practice makes perfect, and somethings you need to learn to make them second nature because anxiety on a test will mess with you.
Good luck.

Read ahead in your textbook so that it will not be the first time you hear of it in lecture. Do not attempt to do homework by just looking at the examples. Make sure you understand the theory dicussion.

don't learn in the last minute, when you solve exam start with what you know first, practice exercises by yourself, eat and sleep well, do physical exercise, avoid negative people, don't lack pencils, pens or paper; respect the professors, be constant
Science require more perseverance than talent.

Take a real interest in the materials, do a little investigation beyond what is required and before you know it you will know it.
