Hi,

I am shifting to a new flat in dwarka, new delhi.

I need to get a LPG gas cylinder connection.

I went to HP, Indane gas agency. I was told that I needed a residence proof.

But, the HP agency said that connections are not being offered right now.

Indane agency told me that it would cost in the range of Rs. 3000-3500 to get gas connection.

Am I being taken for a ride? Please advise.

I need a LPG gas connection when I move into the new flat in one week's time.

Look,
I'am sure you are going to intimate your bank about ur change of address.Take the passbook with the change of address, show the gas authorities that this is my proff of residence and thats it , u get a connection in one day...but the price is the almost the same Rs.3000 to Rs.3500 (including Gas stove). If you don't want the gas stove supplied by them , u can get the connection for 1000 rs less. But remember you will be forced by the authroties to buy a gass stove...just don't take it at any cost.

u r surel being taken for the ride. they cant refuse to give u a gas connection nor they can overcharge u. in case they still do u can call the concerned gas compmany and lodge a complain with them. u have to submit the necessary documents such as address proof. if u dont have that u can obtain one from your society office on its letter head that u r living there.

Is there any regulatory for gases where such complaints can be logged? e.g. IRDA controls insurance companies etc. So there must be some regulatory body for gas/petroleum too. But I'm not sure.

i thnk connections are open. u dont have to pay anything to apply. but when u take a cylinder and a gas stove u have to pay for it and it would cost u somewhere arount 3000/- rs.
