That is very common actually. There is something in the sperm that can trigger a woman into labor. It is the same thing that is in some of the gels they use to ripen a cervix in the hospital.

It's usually a coincidence when it happens. If you are past your due date and have sex one night and the next morning you're in labor, it won't necessarily mean it was the sex that induced you. It's still something that has NOT been proven. But sex can possibly help by releasing a hormone called oxytocin, which causes the uterus to contract. And sperm contains prostaglandins which can soften the cervix. BUT again, it's not a proven, surefire way to induce. For all anyone knows, it's just a coincidence that you go into labor after a night of sex. Especially after your due date when you are expected to go into it at anytime anyway.

Well, nothing short of medical induction is 100%. But sex is a very good way to try. Semen has protoglandins in it that help soften the cervix, help it so that dialation and effacement are easier. Also, orgasm for the woman can start contractions. It's one of the most effective way of natural induction.

It is actually the increased activity during sex that can stimulate labor. Any woman who is preganant and goes into the hospital to be induced is told to walk the hallways at the beginning because it will speed things along. Labor is brought on by a collection of muscles so using your muscles and stimulating them helps to move things along.

That one is new to me. I never heard that before. But you never know maybe it might work. But me personally the last thing on my mind we would be having sex when I am 2 days pass my due date. I also have known that if you do a lot of exercise such as walking that could speed up your delivery and have a easier and faster labor.

yes there is a hormone released in a womens body when she is stimulated like that will help he go into labor. If she is low in this hormone then she may not. This hormone strats with an O. Its only in awomen that is pregnant. I was really low in it so that is what the gave me to induce my labor.

yes, it can be done but on a gentle way and should be when the woman is due to give birth. sex induces labor by way of uterine contraction. but should also be very careful because at times,
it causes pre mature rupture of the bag of water, leading to "dry
labor".

Some say it works, the prostaglandins in your partner's semen may produce contractions. Others will tell you it didn't work for them, but it was fun trying anyway.
