Is your mainboard Vista compliant?

If your trying to use a beta copy or a non retail or oem copy of Vista, I suspect you will run into some problems. If your copy is a new legal version, all I can put it down to is some other issue with the actual drivers that were supplied with the motherboard, go to the Gigabyte site and see if they have issued the Vista drivers for that board.
I have checked the site, and it looks like Vista drivers are not avail as yet, but they may be avail in other parts of the world.
