Moe.

Moe. is a really good funky jam band. I saw them last year. Most of the show was really good, some of it was great. They play extended jams and are super skilled musicians with chemistry.
There's lots of live concerts at this site. I strongly suggest listening to a soundboard (SBD) recording. The SBD recordings are way better quality than audience mic recordings. http://www.archive.org/search.php?query=creator:%22moe.%22
Also, I suggest the songs, Moth and Timmy tucker. Enjoy.

Herbie Hancock went through a funk phase in the early 1970's. His album Headhunters is a classic funk jazz album.http://allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:4s8gtq6zbu47

Jaco Pastorious was a super talented jazz fusion bassist. His album Live in Italy is good. Be prepared, it's full of busy super musicians letting loose. http://allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:my6m965odep8

The Jazz Mandolin Projest is a really good live band. I saw them once with Jon Fishman on drums. Iv'e seen them other times with drummers I actually liked as much or more. Ari Hoenig used to tour with them. Now Ari is straight up jazz, and great at it. I suggest seeing JMP live, but there albums aren't as good.

John Ellis used to be the sax player for Charlie Hunter's band. Now he has his own bands. He tours around often. He is much more jazz then funk, but there is funk in his jazz. When I saw him with Jason Marsalis and Roland Gerrrin on drums and bass, they were very funky. It was a great, great amazing show that actually made me laugh it was so good. This album is one of my favorite of any any style. The WHOLE album is great. I'm not so sure if it's what your asking for though. http://allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&token=&sql=10:369ds32wa3pg

For a great surprise, check out From Good Homes. They were great. They were opening up for Bob Weir just before they broke up. Try the songs, All That I Can Do and I Am A Mess. Take a minute to try these guys, I promise you'll like them. http://www.archive.org/details/fgh1994-08-05.shn

Forgive me for my rambling. Please try my suggestions. I know how it is to want to hear new music.

definite, it is something that the Messianics do. they're an evangelical Christian team that brazenly state they purpose to transform as many Jews as a risk. They used to modern-day themselves greater fairly, by skill of pointing out accurately that they have got been Christians. yet some years lower back, they realised they have been having this type of damaging success cost in changing Jews, they had to alter innovations-set. so as that they now lie by skill of calling themselves 'messianic jews' whether there's no longer something Jewish approximately them! They call Jesus, 'Yeshua' and you be attentive to what else? they have even tried to grant a 'jewish' call to the CHRISTIAN bible!!! They call it 'brit chadasha' - 'new testomony'. They prey on youthful naive Jews that are away at college and faraway from residing house for the 1st time ever. They artwork very troublesome to cajole those Jews that they are analyzing 'Jewish' scripture - while in actuality, this is the hot testomony, the Christian bible! this is an appalling and depraved deception. sturdy positioned up :)

This might sound a little "pop-ish", but the John Mayer Trio is excellent!
They have this one song on the album (it's called TRY!), it's called Another Kind of Green...It's absolutely fabulous. Everytime I listen to it, I feel like I'm right there at the concert.
You should listen to a little 'snippet' of it on iTunes or something.
