Ok best way to do this is to connect to a Proxy server if you are doing anything Milacious this would be the best thing to do just do a yahoo search on free proxy servers get the ip address then go to tools, internet options, connections, LAN Settings and then click on use Proxy Server and put the ip address they give you and they should have given you a port and put the port number in and there you go you are Hidden from everyone not even the FBI can track your *** down.... this is how alot of people do illegal things around the world because they are using someone elses ip address....just remember your internet is going to run alot slower because most likely the Proxy Server is in China or Australia or anywhere and it just takes a while because its sending info there and back have fun..

No not that way, IP is fundamentally required for connecting to Internet; you can use a proxy machine to use bittorrent on your own behalf but then that proxy has an IP and that has to go out the open.

Use a VPN software program. It hides your computer form other computers. It will only allow connections to other computers that you start. If people are trying to get to you, they can't.
Sucks to be them..... LOL
You can use Wireless to connect to an access point. When you surf, people would see the IP address of the router, which you are connected to, not yours.... The auhorities can gain access to the access point router and gain your MAC address and find you from that, but the average SMOO can't.....
Also, the access point would give you extra protection for it is a lot harder to hack a router that your PC.....
Like I said, the average SMOO / scipt kiddy can't do nothing to you.
If you are a your home connection, buy a linksys router and it will provide the security you are looking for..... If you are just worried about your comptuer security....

Not possible. You could hide behind another IP, but any program that's worth using uses your ACTUAL Ip.
Use the library computers if you aren't playing with anything sensitive?

there is no way you can hide your IP from such tools unless they have the feature of hiding your details from others but mostly the users dont get each other IP details it shows onlly the UID (user ID) but I think you need to hide your IP from the network admin wich is not possible cause these are peer to peer netowrk programs so its like one to one connection

you can use an anonymous search site to do your searches from their IPs, hiding yours. There are several, but they also might be watching your web activity themselves? Do a search on "anonymous search engines" and you will get some to look at.
Clusty is one. Scroogle is another.

You can use a service like Anonymizer (http://www.anonymizer.com/) or can use a free proxy server (google search proxy servers)
