honey i've seen that movie nine times. i STILL can't figure out what the H*LL Miss Nell is muttering!

Actually, the reason she speaks that way is because the lady she learned speaking from had a STROKE and because of this could not speak correctly as the side of her face was paralysed. Then Nell grows up learning to speak from listening to her 'trying' to speak. :-) Hope this helps...

She and her twin sister had their own language, it is refered to as Twin Speak and is a real thing. Her sister died and left a tragic mark in her mind, Missa Chikabee is about her sister, I think saying that she missed her.

I think she was referring to her dead twin, if I remember correctly..but gee I could be wrong
