I always aim to be the best, and now i'm starting high school, so i don't really know what to expect(work-wise). How can i prepare myself? What should i study? And i also wonder how i am going to be able to work to the best of my ability when i am surrounded by morons... What can i say, it's a *Really* bad school -__-"...

If it's a really bad school, start looking around NOW for school-choice programs with other schools in your area (schools who accept students from other districts), or charter schools (they're public schools, but usually smaller, with better programs).
If you DO end up in this bad school (and yes, schools ARE getting worse, due mostly to lack of funding), then keep track of how much instruction you get from teachers, vs. how much they just throw worksheets and homework at you and expect you to "figure it out".
If your parents are up to it, have them lodge a complaint. If not, just ask, beg PLEAD to get you into a better school! I knew a kid (yrs. ago) whose mom became a realtor to get him out of the school I later got my kid out of by sending him to a charter school!
I really feel for you...you should NOT have to be worrying about this stuff at your age. I'm a former teacher, so, if you want, you or your parents can e-mail me and I'll send you some links (for your state) for your parents to visit, to see what your rights are and what options you have.
Good luck! If you are a motivated student, you MIGHT consider applying early to college, as one of my son's friends did (he's very happy at the nearby community college, when the others are suffering in 11th grade!).

I work at a school right now, and there's really no way of preparing for extra work that comes with high school. Honestly, it's usually not much of a difference. Most teachers are great and tend to gradually give students more work allowing the students to become better at doing more work / managing time. Dont worry about it though, I'm sure you'll do well.
Just don't be too sure that everyone there will be morons. Every student (you may realize) expresses themselves differently. I have one student who has mostly D's and C's but he writes poetry and it is the most amazing poetry I've read for a student of that age.
High school is a blast though! ENJOY!

i am a freshman in highschool and i can tell you first hand that there ARE a lot of morons in high school.
as far as the work goes, its not much harder than junior high. the only real difference is instead of just getting answers you have to apply them to other situations.
just make sure you do your assignments the day you get them instead of putting them off for the last moment because you will forget.
good time management is the key and always keep a planner to keep up with your assignments. some people say planners are nerdy but they really are great reminders.

I was thinking the same thing two years ago when I was in 8th grade, but I'm a freshman at my new high school and it's great! Well, it really depends on what kind of school you're going to. A lot of high schools are ghetto and crazy but I think you'll make it thro.
Just don't be fake, don't be a prep, don't be a geek, and dont be one of those conceited bitches who are always full of themselves. Focus on school, get to know all ur teachers and all the people, yes, some Sophmores and Senoirs will be a little mean to you on first day, but like I said, its about the school ur going to. And ur going to have to study harder than in elementray and middle school cuz u have to prepare for S.A.T.S's and colleges...basically just do what u gotta do and you'll be fine.
You'll have ur teachers and friends to guide you thro the next four years of high school. You proably wont be the only one who's scared and nervous. But participate in a lot of after school activites and classes so it'll look good on ur record so you can get into a good college.
Dont worry bout the stupid morans, I have to deal with them everyday. I just say "back off *****!" and they'll do it. Its really easy, but you have to be cool with everyone before u curse them out otherwise, things could get ugly

You're 11, starting 9th grade I presume. You're already two years ahead. Choose courses that lead into what you want to have as your career in the future. Study hard and always do your homework. Don't give into peer pressure. High school really isn't all that tough. Just do your best and you'll do fine.
