No under V's mask is probably a face that is charred and pretty disgusting. Remember the first morning that the girl sees V without his gloves on and his hands are really bad looking? That's from when he escaped from that institution when the fires pretty much burned his entire body. He is not trying to really hide anything other than a deformed face. It also serves a purpose to hide his identity from his enemies I guess too.

In the end, doesn't the girl say he could be anybody. I thought the mask was to show people anyone without a face could do miracles. Like today, people who are known or have money could get away with anything. He didn't let injustice get away. The movie was excellent.

He was burned all over his body in a fire when he was younger. He wears the mask to hide his disfigurement.

I like the one that Spencer's had at Halloween. Also some comic book stores carry them.

There wasn't enough "V" to justify an analysis. The character was an afterthought, losely based on Zorro's "gentleman hero". He/she was quickly drawn together so as to shove the gay agenda down the throat of an unsuspecting audience, hot off the Matrix craze and seeking the next big action fix. Scores of young, straight males were herded into theaters across the country so as to be exposed to the eccentric fancy of transvestite Larry Wachowski, which I'm sure was a highly erotic thrill for him.
If it wasn't blatantly obvious upon viewing, V meant vagina down to the symbolic shaping of the letter itself in the film's custom font and promo posters. This is as deep as the rabbit hole goes; to further delve into the pseudo-symbolism of this film is to have too much time on one's hands.
