I am 6w4d pregnant and earlier I had a weird sharp pain very very low in my abdomen. it was just once and it was short. it wasn't all that painful, but enough to make me stop what I was doing and go wtf? I know its probably nothing and I plan on mentioning it to the doctor. I just wanted to know if anyone had anything similar early in their pregnancy?

Yes, this is normal. Even before the baby is big enough to be seen on an ultrasound, your uterus begins to soften and stretch, and you can sometimes feel it as sharp, tearing pains. When the fetus implants, it can also be accompanied by sharp pains. In fact, i think during every stage of my pregnancy, something was accompanied by sharp pains.... Of course, mentioning it to your doctor is a good idea, and you should call your practitioner or go to the ER right away if the pain is contstant, accompanied by bleeding, or if the pain is so severe that it interferes with normal activities.

Pregnancy comes with all kinds of pains, twinges, cramps, what have you. As long as your pain isn't constant, unbearable, or accompanied by anything else such as fever, bleeding, ect. I wouldn't worry about it. your body is rapidly changing, your first 12 wks of pregnancy are your baby's most "developmental " weeks. if your really concerned, call your doc. But if not just mention it to him/her at your next prenatal.

Most likely it is the ligaments supporting your uterus stretching. It happens more and more and sometimes it hurts.
