I am doing a experiment on air pressure & can anyone tell me how can a bottle indent by using cold and hot water? Why did it indent?

Hot water is run over the bottle, heating the air inside.
The bottle is capped.
Cold water is poured over the bottle, cooling the air inside.
The warm air at the beginning of the experiment has slightly more pressure and the extra air escapes out the bottle until the cap is put on.
When the cap is put on, the pressure inside is the same as the pressure outside.
The cold air at the end of the experiment has less pressure and the outside air pressure pushes in on the bottle.
