Be honest but in a tactful way. Pull her aside and ask her if she's been feeling okay. Tell her that you've noticed she's been sweating more and she kind of smells like sweat. Offer suggestions...new deodorant, perfume, etc. Be supportive and not cruel. She will appreciate the advice.

_______________, I really need to talk with you about something. I want you to know you are my very best friend and I love you like a sister. I hope you know I would never do anything on purpose to hurt you. You do know that, don't you?
I would really hate it if I thought anyone didn't think the world of you like I do. But, I noticed your deoderant isn't working as well as it should be. If I've noticed it, I'm afraid others will, too. Maybe you should try another brand.

There really isn't a good way to say it. Next time she stinks just tell her that you don't want to upset her but she needs some deoderant. Chances are she knows she stinks but doesn't think you can smell it. If you tell her about it she will try harder to avoid the problem.

Send her a letter and let her know. She might not know if she is on some kind of medication that affects her that way.
You don't have to sign the letter, like that you won't hurt her feelings. With the letter/package send her soap, shampoo etc.

depending on her age if she gets her period or not and she baths than it means her hormones are outta wack and she would need to go to the doctor for that other wise i would advise talking to her mother about it and explain you dont want other kids to start noticing especially boys.
