From what I have seen of the Republicans in the USA from the top down, I wonder how anyone can be a Christian and a Republican. There are Republicans who claim to be Christians but they show no evidence whatsoever of believing in Christianity. We call them Old Testament Fundamentalists or OTFs. They are certainly not Christians.

Of course. The only reason that a lot of Christians identify with the Republican Party is because of the Democrat party's animosity toward all religion, particularly Christianity.

I think that a lot of Christians today are independents. They realize that Bush, and his fellow Neo-Cons aren't genuine Christians any more than they are true Conservatives.

Not so much a good question as a young question. . .
My grandparents where devout Christians and they followed the true meaning of the gospel and Jesus' teachings.
All were welcome at their table, they went out of their way to help those in need and they did not judge people by their outward appearance.
Nor were they republicans. They were staunch Democrats and always ready to debate those who would oppress others just for being different.
They were saints and rare examples of what true Christians really are.

Easy. Republicans dont own the rights to Christianity. God does. If you honestly think that God talks to President Bush and told him to go to war in Iraq- you know nothing of God or Christianity.

I believe in Jesus, but I also believe that he loves everyone. Republicans/"good" Christians do not believe that everyone is equal. Gays don't deserve equality? Poor people dont deserve health care? The Jesus I believe in thinks differently.
