Someone told me just because I am a citizen of a country doesn't mean that I have to be in the country. What do you think of that?? Do you agree or not?

I can understand if you were born somewhere other than the US. not being patriotic for the US. But if you were born in the US and you are not patriotic, then you need to go to another country for a little while. Maybe somewhere like Afghanistan or Cuba. When and if you come back, you will be patriotic then.

You can't help where you were born. That being said, I can't think of a single country of which I would be proud to be a citizen. Most people are proud to be American because of the so-called-Freedom that is entitled to us all, but if you look closely, it really isn't there. Sure we aren't controlled by Communists or Dictators, but still.

Even if there were freedom, there are still plenty of reasons not to be proud. Examples are slavery, and the arrogant ignorance that is inherent with American citizenship.

A true expatriot is one who embodies their convictions without hypocracy by getting their smelly arses out of the Country.
It's easy to ***** about your Country when you continue to live there and enjoy the freedom that brave men and women have sacrificed for so you can *****.
Stand in the middle of Red Square and call Vladimir Putin half of what you call our President....Then I'll be impressed. Hell I might even go to your funeral.

Maybe they aren't patriotic for any nation. A lot of people feel that todays governments are in opposition to Gods heavenly government. Giving allegiance to any nation would in effect be denouncing their faith in God and his government.

People who are not patriotic suck unless they were born in another country . You can have loyalty to many countries though.

I don't care if someone is patriotic or not. Just go to work and stay off welfare and I'm happy. :-)
