You really shouldn't do that. I did it once and it took forever to get back on track again. It is healthy to have a period as it cleans out your uterus.

YEAP!!!! That's fine. I used to do it when I had a special occasion coming up - or through summer so I could go swimming ect. My doctor use to say it was safe to do it up to 3 times in a row, but not to make it common practise because that's not what the pill is for and if it is done frequently (skipping inactive pills) it may make it difficult to become pregnant later on down the track!!!!
Goodluck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is safe. My Dr. has said it's o.k. to do every once in awhile, Like if you are going on vacation etc. Just don't go too long, unless your Dr. says you can. I do know people who never take the inactive pills, but it's by Dr. orders.

No.
The cycle is constructed to allow your natural hormonal levels to rise and fall which still blocking conception.
By skipping a period, you are not allow some hormones to ebb and you are allowing others to peak for too long. If you took it this way (NOT as directed) over a period of time, you could potentially raise your risk of breast and other cancers which are hormone-related.
There is an oral contraceptive which does allow you to have fewer menstrual periods a year. It is configured and dosed a bit differently. Ask your doctor if you can switch to that.
In the meantime- taker your prescription as directed. If you read the package insert, it will tell you more clearly WHY you are supposed to take it the way they tell you.

Yes it is safe, i know some doctors that allow their patients to do this.. you can go for 3 months like this but then allow your body to have its period.. I also heard that during that week of your period, its very painful and heavy, so make sre you are ready for your worst periods ever!!!

Not much help, but it does depend on if you are on Monophasic or Triphasic pills. It is definitely safe, but the directions on how to do it depends upon which type of pill you are on.
