Soon we have sex-ed/"adolescent" health in science and I heard from one of my friends who took it last year that we have to talk about our periods. I haven't gotten my period yet, and I'm the only girl in the entire grade who hasn't. I heard that you should get it two years after your breasts start developing and they did like 3 something years ago...I don't feel like announcing as they go around the room to the guys and girls AND my teacher that I haven't even gotten my period yet. It's so late to be getting it. Also, it's a personal thing, why should we have to talk about that TO THE ENTIRE CLASS?!?!?!!?!? god.

How old are you? When I was in 5th grade we had a class to teach us about puberty, but it was just the females in my grade and no boys. Most likely this discussion wont be with the boys in your grade, just the females. Also, the teacher will probably talk about a girls period, and not make you talk about yours ( unless you volunteer to share) because, after all that is a personal thing. No worries on not having your period yet. A lot of girls dont get it for a long time, and normally they get it at the same age their mother or grandmother did.

If you don't want to talk about it, they can't make you. Just say you wouldn't like to talk about it. They can't say you HAVE to. That would be an invasion of privacy. And having your period doesn't have anything to do with how fast your brests develpoed. It is just a estimate, not a fact. I would only get concerned about not having your period yet until you were 16. Usually every girl is generally soposed to have it by 16 years old. so if you are younger than that, don't worry about it. It will come some time or another. If you are older than 16 i would talk to someone about it. Just be paent, and don't worry about it.

It could just be to let other girls know there not alone. And to try and educate the guys what it like for some girls.

You could try asking your parents to write a note that it aganist your beliefs to speak about it in public.
